Busting myths

What people believe.
And what's actually true.

These are the reasons most people never invest in crypto. Every single one is false.

✗ Myth

"I need to buy a whole Bitcoin"

✓ Reality

You can buy from as little as $1 worth of BTC

Bitcoin is divided into 100 million units called satoshis. With $10 you already own a real fraction. There is no minimum amount imposed by the technology.

✗ Myth

"Crypto is only for tech experts"

✓ Reality

Signing up takes less than 15 minutes

Modern platforms are designed for anyone. Signing up, verifying your identity and buying your first crypto is as simple as opening an online bank account.

✗ Myth

"If the price drops, I lose everything"

✓ Reality

You only lose if you sell. And there are strategies to profit when it drops.

Bitcoin's price has fallen and recovered multiple times in history. DCA and automated arbitrage generate returns regardless of market direction.

✗ Myth

"Crypto is illegal or a scam"

✓ Reality

It's fully legal in the US, UK and most countries

Investing in cryptocurrencies is completely legal. Bitcoin ETFs trade on the NYSE and NASDAQ. Regulated exchanges are subject to government oversight, AML and KYC rules.

✗ Myth

"I have to watch the screens all day long"

✓ Reality

Bots work for you around the clock

There are automated trading tools that buy and sell while you sleep, work or are on holiday. The crypto market never closes — and neither do your bots.

✗ Myth

"I need a lot of money for it to be worth it"

✓ Reality

With $50–100 you can already run real strategies

Return percentages are the same with $100 as with $10,000. Modern platforms let you activate grid trading or arbitrage bots with very small amounts.

The basics

What exactly is a cryptocurrency?

A cryptocurrency is digital money that doesn't depend on any bank or government. It runs on a technology called blockchain — a public database that records all transactions transparently and immutably.

Just like the dollar exists as physical bills and digital bank balances, Bitcoin exists only in digital form — but unlike the dollar, no central bank can create more of it at will.

You don't need to understand how a car engine works to drive one. Crypto is the same: you can buy, hold and grow your cryptocurrencies without understanding the technology behind them.

Bitcoin (BTC) — Digital gold
The first and most well-known cryptocurrency. Created in 2009 with a maximum supply of 21 million units. Long-term store of value. You can buy from as little as $10.
Ξ
Ethereum (ETH) — The smart platform
More than a coin: a platform on which decentralized apps, DeFi and NFTs are built. The fuel of the blockchain ecosystem.
Altcoins — Solana, XRP, ADA, DOGE...
SOL, XRP, Cardano, Avalanche, BNB, MATIC, TON... Each has its own value proposition. Higher risk, higher potential returns.
$
Stablecoins (USDT, USDC) — No volatility
Always worth $1. Ideal for storing value without market exposure, or for use in bot strategies that generate stable returns.
👤 Choose your path

Three ways to start.
You choose yours.

There's no single way to invest in crypto. It depends on how much time you want to spend, how much risk you can tolerate and what your goal is.

01
For long-term investors
Accumulate crypto gradually

Buy small amounts of Bitcoin or Ethereum regularly — every week, every month — regardless of price. This strategy is called DCA and reduces the impact of volatility. No stress, no technical analysis required.

02
For passive income seekers
Make your crypto work for you

Activate bots that buy and sell automatically 24/7. The Grid Bot profits from market fluctuations. The arbitrage bot generates returns with USDT regardless of whether BTC goes up or down.

03
For aspiring traders
Active trading: spot and futures

Buy and sell cryptocurrencies manually, taking advantage of market movements. Spot trading is the simplest. Futures allow you to trade with leverage — more risk, more potential reward.

Roadmap

How to buy your first
cryptocurrency in 5 steps

From zero to owning your first Bitcoin, Ethereum or altcoin. No unnecessary steps, no jargon.

1
Choose a cryptocurrency exchange

An exchange is where you buy and sell cryptocurrencies — like a digital currency marketplace. The most important things: it must be regulated, secure, easy to use and ideally with built-in trading tools.

What to look for: Official regulation (FinCEN registered in the US), low fees (industry standard is 0.1%, best platforms reach 0.05%), simple interface and free integrated bots.
2
Create your account and verify your identity (KYC)

By law, all exchanges must verify who you are before allowing you to trade with real money. This process is called KYC and involves uploading a photo of your ID and a selfie. It takes between 5 and 30 minutes.

Is it mandatory? Yes. It's a legal anti-money laundering requirement. Any serious platform requires it. If they don't ask, walk away.
3
Fund your account

Once verified, deposit money from your bank or transfer crypto from another exchange. With $50–100 you can start comfortably.

About stablecoins: Some platforms require depositing USDT instead of dollars directly. It's an extra step but very straightforward from any major exchange like Coinbase or Kraken.
4
Buy your first cryptocurrency

Enter how much money you want to invest — not how many coins — and the platform calculates the fraction automatically. To start, Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) are the most established options.

Remember: You don't have to buy a whole unit. With $50 you buy exactly $50 worth of Bitcoin. The price shown on screen is always per whole unit.
5
Choose your strategy and automate

Hold long-term? Activate a bot for passive income? Learn active trading? You don't have to pick just one — you can combine strategies based on your capital and goals.

The most important advice: Only invest what you can afford not to touch for at least 1 year. Patience is the most powerful tool any investor has.

📖 Glossary

The words everyone uses
but nobody explains

The basic terms of the crypto world explained in plain English.

Blockchain
A public, decentralized database where all transactions are recorded. Nobody can delete or alter its records. It's the technology behind Bitcoin and all other cryptocurrencies.
Wallet
A digital address where your cryptocurrencies are stored. It's not a physical wallet — it's a pair of cryptographic keys. Exchanges manage your wallet automatically.
Satoshi
The smallest unit of Bitcoin. 1 Bitcoin = 100,000,000 satoshis. With $10 you already own thousands of real satoshis. You don't need to buy a whole BTC.
Trading Spot
Buying and selling real cryptocurrencies at the current market price. The simplest form: buy BTC or ETH and sell whenever you want. No leverage, no complexity.
Futuros (Futures)
Contracts that let you bet on whether a crypto's price will go up or down, with leverage. Higher risk and higher potential. Not recommended for absolute beginners.
DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging)
Buying a fixed amount of crypto at regular intervals, regardless of price. Reduces the impact of volatility. The most battle-tested strategy for long-term investors.
Grid Bot
A bot that places buy and sell orders within a price range, generating profit from every market fluctuation. Runs 24/7 with zero human intervention.Try for free →
Arbitraje
A strategy that exploits price differences between markets to generate profit without directional risk. The spot-futures arbitrage bot generates returns whether BTC goes up or down.
Stablecoin
A cryptocurrency whose value is pegged to the dollar (USDT, USDC). Always worth $1. Ideal for storing value without volatility, or for use in arbitrage bots with stable returns.
HODL
A community term meaning to hold your cryptocurrencies long-term without selling. It comes from a typo of "hold" that went viral on the original Bitcoin forums.
KYC (Know Your Customer)
A mandatory identity verification process on all regulated exchanges. It involves uploading your government ID and a selfie. A legal measure against fraud and money laundering.
APR / APY
Annual return of a strategy. APR without compound interest, APY with it. If a bot has 20% APR, with $1,000 it would generate approximately $200 per year.
Frequently asked questions

The questions everyone has
at the beginning

How much money do I need to start investing in crypto?
+
Technically you can start with $10. To run bot or arbitrage strategies effectively, it's recommended to start with at least $50–100 in USDT. Always invest only what you can afford not to touch for a while.
Is it safe to keep my cryptocurrencies on an exchange?
+
Regulated exchanges with strong security measures are reasonably safe. The key is to choose a regulated platform, enable two-factor authentication (2FA) and never share your keys. For large amounts, consider a hardware wallet as an extra layer.
Do I have to report my crypto gains to the IRS?
+
Yes. In the US, crypto gains are taxed as capital gains. Short-term gains (held under 1 year) are taxed as ordinary income; long-term gains (held over 1 year) qualify for lower rates of 0%, 15% or 20%. Bot earnings may be treated as ordinary income. Always consult a tax professional for your specific situation.
What's the difference between spot trading and futures trading?
+
In spot trading you buy and own the actual cryptocurrency. In futures you trade contracts based on price, which allows leverage. Futures amplify both gains and losses. For beginners, we always recommend starting with spot.
What exactly is a trading bot and how does it work?
+
A trading bot executes buy and sell orders automatically based on a predefined strategy. For example, the Grid Bot buys when the price drops and sells when it rises, within a set range. It runs 24/7 without you doing anything. Some platforms include 16 free bots built right in.
Can I lose more money than I invest?
+
In spot trading, no: the most you can lose is what you invested. In leveraged futures trading, yes, you can lose more than your initial amount (liquidation). That's why futures require more experience. Always start with spot trading and no leverage.
How do I know which cryptocurrency to buy?
+
To start, Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) are the most established options: over a decade in the market, highest liquidity and institutional backing — with Bitcoin ETFs now available on NYSE. Altcoins have more upside but also more risk. A common strategy is putting 70–80% in BTC/ETH and the rest in selected altcoins.
What happens if the platform where I hold my crypto goes bankrupt?
+
It's a real risk, as the FTX collapse in 2022 showed. That's why it's crucial to choose regulated exchanges that publish Proof of Reserves audits, proving user funds are backed 1:1. For larger investments, consider moving part to a personal hardware wallet.
